Lana Jones

Lana has over twenty years of experience working in psychiatric hospital programs and private practice. She is a graduate of Northeastern State University, in Tulsa Oklahoma with a masters in “Counseling Psychology.” She is a national board-certified counselor and licensed professional counselor. In addition, Lana is a member of the American Counseling Association.

Her past experience includes various roles such as Outpatient Program Manager, Inpatient Program Director, community mental health education facilitator, college instructor and private practitioner. Prior to joining Southern Psychiatry Associates, Lana practiced with a medical group in Madison, AL from 2000 thru 2018 and recently relocated to Gulf Shores in 2019.

Currently, Lana counsels with individuals of all ages from preteen to senior adults. Lana’s primary focus is assisting clients in attaining their optimal level of mental health and happiness. Clinical areas of expertise include;

She has extensive experience and a strong record of positive outcomes with “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.” She works with the patient to help them understand themselves emotionally.

Her goal is to help clients learn “cause and effect” related to their emotional state and focus client recovery on what is in their control. Her understanding and concern will help you feel safe and comfortable in therapy. She will teach you how to use tools that empower and motivate you to achieve better mental health.
