Donovan Todd

Donovan Dodd is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in Mental Health. He served in the United States Army Special Operations as an Advanced Tactical Practitioner where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After being honorably discharged, Donovan continued his medical training earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South College in Tennessee. While attending South College, he served as Senior Class President and graduated with honors in 2009. He was also elected to the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society by his professors in 2009.

Donovan worked in the Emergency Department at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee as a Registered Nurse before returning to Uniformed Service as a Commissioned Officer for the US Public Health Service in 2010. While commissioned in the US Public Health Service, Donovan served as a Medical Advisor to the US Marshals Service.

In December 2011, Donovan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lincoln Memorial University where he earned his Masters of Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatry/Mental Health. He obtained his Board Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2012. He has also worked as a Mental Health educator in the role of Clinical Instructor for undergraduate nursing students at Lincoln Memorial University. Donovan was part of a research analysis “The Relevance of Spirituality to Nursing Practice and Education” which was published in the journal Mental Health Practice in 2015.

Donovan has specialized in Mental Health since 2010 in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has been working as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2012 providing Mental Health holistic care to patients including individuals, families, and groups. He is responsible and accountable for managing Mental Health treatment including assessments, evaluations, diagnosis, and development of a Mental Health Treatment Plan made up of comprehensive Mental Health Services including, but not limited to, Mental Health Therapy and/or Mental Health medications. Donovan is currently practicing in Gulf Shores, Alabama and is accepting new patients.
